Richard Jessup Jr, Esq. is a family lawyer in Providence, RI with over 45 years of experience in handling a wide range of complex legal matters with a focus on family law.
Since 1972, Richard has handled all manner of family law issues in the Rhode Island Family Court including divorces, property division, child support and spousal support. He regularly renders legal opinions on family law matters and provides mediation services to several clients.
Prior to opening his own law office, Richard was a senior partner at Jessup and Conroy, PC in Providence. He also founded the Providence law firm of Yesser, Jessup and Green after beginning his career at Rhode Island Legal Services.
Richard serves on the Rhode Island Family Court Bench Bar Committee, which collaborates with the court system to improve facilities, practices, procedures and rules for the benefit of clients.
In 2002, he was elected to the governing body of the Rhode Island Bar Association where he conducts legal education workshops on family law, distribution of assets and alimony. He is also a past member of the Edward P. Gallogly Inns of Court, a professional association which deals exclusively with legal issues relating to division of marital assets in divorce cases.
Richard received his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh where he served as a Law Review editor. He lives with his wife in East Providence and enjoys time with his daughters, sons-in-law and eight grandchildren.
